Rachel’s dance partner for Strictly Come Dancing Christmas spoke fondly of Rachel in a new interview!
We understand that the Christmas Special has already been taped to air on Christmas Day, and our question has nothing to do with the results. What was Rachel Stevens like as a partner and what were her strengths? How much time did you end up rehearsing as a team for the show?
Rach was great. I really, really have a lot of time for her. She is just really talented and she was on the show before and was trained really well by Vincent Simone so it made it a lot easier even considering it had been six or seven years since she had been on. She’s just a really nice, sweet, beautiful girl. We got a dance that, to be honest, neither of us really wanted to do but she was great in it, and I loved working with her. We didn’t get too much rehearsal time because her band SCLUB7 had just got back together and were rehearsing and also she is a judge on The Voice in Ireland of all places so she had been flying around the place but we got enough in to put our dance together and to get to know each other a little.
Rachel recently sat down with Express for a very good interview about events we don’t know much about!
Not a lot of people know this but I’m very good at… massage. My husband Alex is a trained massage therapist but he doesn’t practise any more. If he ever gets a football injury, I give him a massage and he says I have a talent for it. As I’m so little, my hands are quite firm, apparently.
My best friend is… Alex. We dated when I was 13, split up, but stayed friends during our teens. We lost touch then bumped into each other shopping in Selfridges. We went for a coffee and that was that.
My nickname is… “Rats.” My bandmates in S Club 7 used to call me this because I always carried mints with me, so I would rattle wherever I went.
The bravest thing I’ve ever done is… conquer my fear of flying. I’m not a daredevil and I cried for 24 hours before having to get on a plane with the band from Moscow to Siberia. I was so happy whenwe landed.
My favourite TV show is… Friends. It still makes me laugh. My perfect evening is…. dinner with my husband at Zuma or Roka, two great sushi restaurants. I’d also include a couple of cocktails and then meet friends later on for a drink and a good chat. Alex and I are real foodies, and I like dancing but I love good conversation more.
My first kiss was with… This sounds horrible but I can’t remember. It was a very forgettable moment when I was playing spin the bottle with friends at the age of 12 or 13.
My biggest regret is… I really believe that you do things in life for a reason and you shouldn’t have regrets. Even if you make a bad decision then it’s a life lesson.
With the holidays around the corner, and all of the exciting projects Rachel has lined up for 2015, lets not forget that in just 2 weeks time Rachel will be competing for the crown on Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special (2014!)
The first pictures from the show have been released, along with the theme.
Strictly Come Dancing will air its annual Christmas Special on Christmas Day with a host of previous contestants returning to dance again.
Taking part in this year’s show are S Club 7 star Rachel Stevens, actress Lisa Riley, singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor, newsreader Chris Hollins, gymnast Louis Smith and astrologer Russell Grant. They will be joined by pros Tristan MacManus, Robin Windsor, Aljaz Skorjanec, Iveta Lukosiute, Aliona Vilani and Joanne Clifton.
This year the special has a panto theme with all of the couples getting into the festive spirit by donning some wild and wacky costumes, even the judges

Una did a recent interview which dividuled some much needed information!
The new season of The Voice of Ireland will be hitting our screens at the start of next month, with new coaches Una Foden and Rachel Stevens joining Kian and Bressie in the rotating hotseats. Hot Press wanted to make sure the experience is going well for the newbies, so checked in with Una for a quick chinwag to see how she was getting on.
“It’s brilliant!” she enthused. “Really, I love it. We’ve done the auditions and the battles, so now we’re taking a little break before the live shows.”
Foden, of course, was once a promising young singer-songwriter in Co. Tipperary, and though she’s gone a long way since (see what we did there?!), she was delighted with the sky-high standards she found back here in Ireland.
“The talent is amazing, there’s a lot to look forward to. I’ve got some incredible people on my team. So do the others, granted, but I still feel that I have the strongest one!”
And don’t think that that’s not important…
“There is real competition between us coaches, absolutely!” she laughs. “Of course, Rachel and I are the newbies, but Kian has never won while Bressie has won twice. Bressie wants to keep his crown, but we’re all fighting him for it. And us two new kids on the block, we’re definitely looking to make our mark.”
The new series of The Voice of Ireland starts on January 4.
Although no official promotions have been posted, this is the first speak of an actual date. If this is accurate we should be seeing television promotions beginning to air within the next couple of weeks. We’ve got a little under a month to see Rachel on our television screens again!!
We may have just stumbled on the reason Rachel has come stateside.
Rachel is once again in sunny Florida at Universal Studio’s Magic Kingdom where they are taking part in Destination Dreams.
It was also mentioned that Rachel is the ambassador for the charity. No official announcement has been made quite yet but it is lovely to see Rachel in MINNIE mouse ears.
Caudwell Children provides family support services, equipment, treatment and therapies for disabled children and their families across the UK. We also run our Enable Sport programme for talented disabled athletes and our Destination Dreams holiday for children fighting life threatening conditions.
You can learn more about the charity by going to their official website
Whilst roaming the internet i found this article from June of this year, It is of Rachel expressing her disappointment of not having a legacy that lived on!
Rachel Stevens has admitted that she is disappointed that her solo material hasn’t lived on.
The S Club 7 singer released two solo albums in 2003 and 2005, and scored five top ten hits in the UK. Her second album, Come And Get It, is acknowledged as something of a lost pop classic.
Despite releasing hits like Sweet Dreams My LA Ex, Some Girls and I Said Never Again (But Here We Are), Stevens said that she never hears her solo work on the radio any more.
Speaking to Metro, she said: “I really enjoyed doing it but it is never played on the radio.”
Last week, Stevens discussed the possibility of an S Club 7 reunion, saying: “Obviously it hasn’t happened yet because I think getting seven diaries together is really difficult. Everyone’s off doing their own thing, but it would be fun.”
As mentioned this article is from June, i have no idea how it was missed…..
