Rachel Stevens has revealed she has been in “talks” about joining EastEnders.

The former S Club 7 star acted in the group’s several series’ including Miami 7 and L.A. 7 and is now planning to turn her hand to the BBC soap.

She exclusively told The Sun Online: “There’s been talks about EastEnders in the past, which would be really fun to do a cameo role in, or something that would be unexpected or different.”

The Bring It All Back singer, 38, admitted her commitments to the chart-topping band at the beginning of her career and during their reunion tour last year have prevented her from taking on parts.

However, she’s now eager to set foot in Walford.

Speaking at Disney On Ice’s Silver Anniversary Celebration at The SSE Wembley Arena in London this week, she explained: “I would love to get back into acting. Definitely.

“Things have come up in the past but it’s always been a timing thing, like when we were on tour. A lot of these things are about timing.

“It would be an amazing experience. I want something that will challenge me in a different way.

“EastEnders is my local. It’s around the corner for me so it would be perfect.”

Aside from her acting ambitions, Rachel – who is a mum to Amelie, five, and Minnie, two – is currently on telly across the water as a mentor on The Voice of Ireland.

But she confessed she would leap at the chance to join the UK version when it moves to ITV next year.

She said: “Having the experience on The Voice with the live element has given me a real taste for it.

“It’s been an amazing experience and a real learning curve with the mentoring side.

“I would definitely be up for doing the UK version. They change it quite regularly but yeah. It will be all change for ITV.”
