Alex and Rachel met as children. They dated on and off through-out their childhood and teenage years, before ultimatly losing touch. Fate intervened after a string of relations whilst in L.A., and the two crossed paths. They started dating again in 2006 while both trying to ignite an acting career, they returned in London in 2007 and became engaged in June of 2008. Rachel became excited for a Autumn wedding before getting signed for Strictly Come Dancing.

Due to Rachel’s participation in the show, Rachel and Alex’s wedding was put on hold until the following year. After the show and just before the wedding Rachel was mugged outside her home of her engagement ring, the muggers have never been caught — A new ring was made and given to Rachel just before the wedding. on August 2nd 2009 Rachel & Alex were wed at Claridges in Mayfair infront of 184 of her closest friends and family, Excluding all members of S Club in a very traditional Jewish wedding!

Regarding children, Rachel has stated on numerous occasions that she wanted a “large brood”. In May of 2010, after much speculation due to a string of odd interviews regarding children, Rachel announced she and Alex were expecting their first child. On November 16, 2010 Rachel gave birth to a baby girl which they named Amelie.
